Opportunities and Challenges for Performing Artists Questionnaire
Dear artists,
We would like to learn more about what kinds of opportunities and challenges performing artists experience, how these may vary depending on where they live, what music or dance style they practice, and what their backgrounds are. We hope to reveal what measures might be needed to help improve the cultural and artistic environment and make it more inclusive. This questionnaire is for anyone who is engaged in music or dance, whether professional or amateur, regardless of style, idiom, or cultural background. We are interested in all types of music, song, and dance.
This questionnaire is part of a research and science communication project on musical diversity funded by the University of Würzburg and the Volkswagen Foundation. The project is led by Prof. Juniper Hill and Dr. Cornelia Günauer, Ethnomusicologists at the Institute of Music Research at the University of Würzburg. We plan to publish the results in a journal article and share our findings with arts and culture policy makers.
The questionnaire consists of 20 questions asking about your artistic activities, the opportunities and challenges you've experienced, and your background. Your responses will be anonymous. All questions are optional and you can stop at any time. It takes about 20 minutes to complete.
